I can't believe it is April 2022 already! We are still trying to sort out things we left in our son's loft when we downsized and he and his wife bought our family home.
The country was hit with the Covid Pandemic in 2020 and we are still trying to come to terms with it. Thankfully neither of us caught Covid as we are very careful, but it is not over yet. We test regularly.
I am still doing lots of Genealogy research for family and History Group. We recently were invited to the Art Gallery Warehouse to view some paintings done by lauries two times Grandfather who was quite a landscape artist. Amber and Conan also came along and a photograph as taken with the three generations standing next to a portrait of Conans 4 x grandfather! I'm sure Laurie will put more about it in his Blog.
I still knit now and again, but have given up as Co-ordinator for Queensferry Teddies for Tragedies after 10 years! In that time I, with the help of my volunteers, have helped over 10,000 children with teddies and also sent out over 10,000 blankets and other items, all around the world, but mainly to Syrian Refugees. Covid made it very difficult for charities to send aid to other countries and everyone was stock piled unable to accept donations (other than money). I was not to know then the Ukrain was just around the corner. Thankfully people have pulled together to get what help they can to the victims.
I am having real bother with my Arthritis now. My hands get sore, I can't grip properly and my knees are away too. I saw a physiotherapist who said she could not help me but recommended using an exercise bike to strengthen my knees. It seems to help. I also have other exercises to do but not getting on so well with those. My medication for the Rheumatoid was recently increased and my Osteo-Arthritis is just progressing as it does. My feet are not too good either, causing pain if I walk for more than 20 minutes!
I do my best though to not let it hold me back.
Laurie and I had our fourth Covid vaccine yesterday. Laurie because of his age, me because of my medication it seems I am in the vulnerable group. So that's good.
We are looking forward to our cruise to Iceland in August after having it cancelled twice due to Covid regulations. We also have booked a Christmas Cruise so we are looking forward to that too. We see the New Year in, in Madiera!
